Net Operations
Designated Net Control Stations (NCS) for the weekly DAREC net should use the Net script. The Net Control Log to log is used to log all checkins. A Net Log preprinted with names and call signs is available here.

Weekly Nets
DAREC holds a weekly net every Thursday at 2000 hours MST. Our primary repeater is 147.300 (plus offset, with a tone of 103.5). Our alternate repeater is 447.075 (minus offset, with a tone of 123.0). We use this net for training members in Net Control Station (NCS) operating proceedures. NCS is rotated among members. We also pass any traffic about upcoming DAREC events. Visitors are always welcome to check into the net.

Monthly Training
DAREC meets for training on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 0900-1200 hours. We usually meet at the District 3 station which is located at 1625 S. University Boulevard, just north of I-25. Periodically we will have "intensive training" that begins after a lunch break and continues into the afternoon. Topics covered may include DAREC specific training such as Denver Police Department operations and procedures, emergency operations and preparations, NIMS/ICS, situational awareness, Homeland Security, etc. Denver Police Department supports DAREC through training provided by Department personnel. We also train in Ham specific areas such as message handling (NTS), packet radio, APRS, antenna construction, operating procedures, etc. We rely on various DAREC members to conduct this training. An example of "intensive training" might include packet radio (such as, computer setup, radio wiring and setup, software usage).
